Ms. Edmondson is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and board-certified Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner. She has been with St. Clair Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine since 2001.
She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Nursing from the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Michigan in 2001. She has also earned two bachelor’s degrees; one from Wayne State University – Registered Nurse- and the other from Michigan State University.
Jean worked as a staff nurse at St. John Hospital and Medical Center for 5 years and began working as a Nurse Practitioner in 2003 at St. Joseph Mercy of Macomb- now called Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
She has enjoyed a variety of nursing roles as a Nurse Practitioner. She practices as an acute care Nurse Practitioner- rounding for St. Clair Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine most days for the last thirteen years at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. She also practices in the offices of St. Clair Orthopaedics, diagnosing and treating orthopaedic patients using physical exam, x-ray evaluation, and injections to help alleviate muscle, bone, and joint pain. In addition, she assists the surgeons of the practice in joint replacement and spine surgeries in the operating room.
Bringing a nursing perspective to orthopaedic patient care in collaboration with surgeons benefits both providers and patients. Jean’s contribution to St Clair Orthopaedic practice helps to optimize orthopaedic patient’s outcomes and aids in improving our patient’s quality of life.
